MAYOW PARK

Mayow Park rests on one of the hills overlooking the valleys in the the borough of Lewisham in South East London. Enviroworks, a local landscape amenity not for profit group, asked Raymond Hall to design a low cost and small pavilion that could showcase sustainable technologies. The scheme shown illustrates what it is possible.

The pavilion would be highly insulated under a ‘green roof’ of vegetation that could also be a habitat for insects and birds – and as well as a vehicle for grey water collection. Ground source heating and solar panels could be use as could photovoltaic’s to generate electicity. Teaching walls are shown around the outside of the building. Cooling would maximize air movement because of the site’s exposed location.
